To begin your adventure, place the battle map neatly between each player.
Next, hand out the dice, gems, caster rings, monster molds, spell clay, and distant tools so everyone has their own set.
Using the molds, you’ll create your monsters from the provided clay.

When playing for the first time, check the rulebook. It gives clear guidance on which monsters to mold for your opening battle.
After everyone has finished crafting their creatures, place your molded army closest to you on the battle map, opposite your opponents. With everything in position, your monsters are now ready for their very first battle.

How to Play Necromolds: A Hands-On Guide to Tactile Games
After setup, on your turn, roll and assign commands to your spell books. Players then take turns performing commands from their chosen spellbook. Once all commands have been completed, the round finishes, and you start a new round.
There are 3 steps to each round:
- Determine who goes first, which is generally the person with the smallest army
- Roll and Assign Command Dice
- Take Turns performing commands
To assign a command dice, once rolled, you simply place it on the spellbook, which has an available slot. You then complete the spellbook command, and once completed, remove the command dice from the spellbook.
This is where the battles begin, and you get to squash your opponents in combat. You continue with command actions until there are no more move dice or command attack dice remaining on the spellbook. The number of commands may vary for each person during a round. Once all players have completed their commands, the round ends.
In Necromolds, there is no grid or square to outline distance of movement; instead, there is a Distance Tool.
Strategy
In this tactile game, you’ll need to think critically about your moves while positioning your creatures effectively and choosing when to attack (smash with your Caster Ring) or defend, which can turn the tide of battle.
