Quick Board Games for Families About Us - Family Board Games Expert

Hi, I’m Gina – Welcome to Quick Board Games For Families

I started this site because board games have always been a huge part of my family life. From noisy Friday night family game nights around the kitchen table to quiet card games before bedtime, we’ve found that the right game can turn even an ordinary evening into something special.

At Quick Board Games For Families, my goal is simple: to help parents, caregivers, and families find the best quick board games and card games for kids, teens, and adults.

So if you are looking for quick and easy games for camping, strategy games for older kids, or laugh-out-loud party games for friends, I share screen free family activities from personal reviews, family-tested recommendations, and practical tips to make choosing the right game stress-free.

My Experience with Tabletop Games

I’ve always loved board games from a young age. I know firsthand how tricky it can be to find board games and card games that keep everyone engaged—from an 8-year-old learning the ropes to teens who want something clever, to adults who just want to relax and connect.

That’s why I focus on family-friendly tabletop games that are fun, easy to learn, can be played in less than 1 hour, and bring people together.

Quick Board Games For Families isn’t just about reviews; it’s about real family experiences. Every game I write about has been played, tested, highly recommended, and enjoyed in our home or shared with friends.

Think of this space as your go-to guide for board game ideas, card game recommendations, and inspiration for creating screen-free family activity moments.

Favourite Games and Family Memories

I love to travel, whether it is a weekend camping trip or visiting friends further afield. If you peek into my bag before a trip, you’d almost always find a card game tucked inside. From UNO Show ’Em No Mercy to Phase 10 and Monopoly Deal, these packs have been lifesavers at airports, campsites, and hotels. We’ve even had strangers join in on a mid-journey game, which are some of my favorite travel memories.

At home, our shelves are stacked with well-loved titles. Some long-time favorites include Genius Square, Dragonwood, Splendor, and Cranium. While I personally gravitate toward strategic board games as I love a good challenge, my boys have different tastes. One leans toward quick, energetic card games like UNO, while the other loves word and speed-based games like Boggle, Just One, and 5 Second Rule. We are always trying something new to keep game night interesting.

Game Tester Number 2:

My teenage son helps test and review games. He is all about strategy and fast card games, and he inherited his competitive side straight from me.

When he’s not gaming, he is usually on the soccer field. His top picks include Uno: Show ’Em No Mercy, Monopoly Deal, and Dragonwood.

Sign up to our Newsletter

Hi, I would love you to join our community. I will only send out about two newsletters a month. Because, if you’re anything like me, you hardly get time to read all the things you sign up for. So I don’t want to add to that pile.

They are visual emails with a few recommendations in each age group.  They can include community photos if you want to share your family board game nights photos with us.
