The Happy Puzzle Company has unveiled 3 new  board games, which are done in collaboration with Transport for London. These new London Underground-themed board games showcase some of the most recognizable images from Transport for London. These would make a fabulous gift for younger children.

These are Underground Genius, Underground Brain Train, and Underground Gridzy.

Underground Genius is a must-try if you enjoy the award-winning board game Genius Square. With its vibrant London Underground logos and colors, it adds a fresh twist to the beloved classic.

If you’ve never played, I highly recommend giving it a shot—my sons and I thoroughly enjoy this game. The game is quick-paced and offers endless replayability with its vast array of combinations.

Here’s a brief overview of how to play Genius Square: Each player receives a grid along with nine uniquely shaped colored blocks and seven round wooden blockers. A player rolls the dice, and you fill in your grid based on the letter and number shown (like A1). The first player to arrange their blocks into a complete square wins.

With 62,208 possible combinations, there’s always a new challenge to tackle. The Happy Puzzle company states “that all of them have at least one possible solution.” Of course some are trickier than others to solve. If you’re looking for an even more complex experience, check out Genius Star.

Underground Brain Train is ideal if your looking for a STEM-based board game for young children that incorporates trains. This board game features 40 multi-level puzzles with a colourful London Underground wind-up train. Complete the puzzle, and once the track is built, you use the wind-up underground train to make its way around the puzzle past all the iconic buildings. Best Christmas Gift for Children 4 Years +.

Next up is Underground Gridzy for children aged 7+. Players are dealt 4 cards, which feature 16 iconic images, and it’s then a race to position these images so that only nine of them are visible in a 3×3 grid, which is shown on the challenge card. Score extra points for finishing first and for keeping your icons connected. Continue to challenge yourself and your family with the 60 regular challenges or ten expert challenges.

Any of these 3 new games will make a fabulous addition to your board game for families collections.

In conjunction with the above board games, The Happy Puzzle Company also launched an underground themed puzzles. The puzzle features 73 towns and cities that provide a gorgeous vision of underground systems in places like Aberdeen, Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester and Cardiff.

If you like puzzle type games, I also highly recommend Azul and Patchwork. Azul comes in a variety of editions. I regularly play the standard version and love it.
