Quick Board Games for Families About Us

Hi, I’m Gina – Welcome to Quick Board Games For Families

I started this site because board games have always been a huge part of my family life. From noisy Friday night family game nights around the kitchen table to quiet card games before bedtime, we’ve found that the right game can turn even an ordinary evening into something special.

Here at Quick Board Games For Families, my goal is simple: to help parents, caregivers, and families find the best quick board games and card games for kids, teens, and adults. So if your looking for quick and easy games for camping, strategy games for older kids, or laugh-out-loud party games for friends, I share personal reviews, family-tested recommendations, and practical tips to make choosing the right game stress-free.

" I've always loved board games from a young age"

I know firsthand how tricky it can be to find games that keep everyone engaged—from an 8-year-old learning the ropes to teens who want something clever, to adults who just want to relax and connect. That’s why I focus on family-friendly tabletop games that are fun, easy to learn, and bring people together.

Quick Board Games For Families isn’t just about reviews—it’s about real family experiences. Every game I write about has been played, tested, consulted about and (most importantly) enjoyed in our home or shared with friends. Think of this space as your go-to guide for board game ideas, card game recommendations, and inspiration for creating memorable family moments.

So, if you’re ready to laugh, compete, and connect, stick around—I’ve got plenty of board game recommendations for families waiting for you.

Quick Board Games for Families About Us

I love to travel and that might be a weekend away camping or visiting friends or further afield. And, if you peek into my bag before a trip, you’d almost always find a card game tucked inside. From UNO Show ’Em No Mercy to Phase 10, Monopoly Deal, these little packs have been lifesavers at airports, campsites, and hotel lobbies. More than once, we’ve ended up sitting on the floor mid-journey, cards spread out, and even sometimes, we have strangers joining in. Those moments are some of my favorite travel memories.

At home, our shelves are stacked with well-loved board games and card games. Some long-time favorites include Genius Square, Dragonwood, Splendor, Cranium, and a surprise gift from a friend—Skipbo—that quickly became a family staple. I’ll admit, I personally gravitate toward more strategic board games because I love the challenge (and yes, I can get a bit competitive!). My boys, on the other hand, are very different in their tastes: one leans toward quick, energetic card games like UNO, while the other loves word and speed-based games like Boggle, Just One, Really Loud Librarian, and 5 Second Rule. It means we’re always trying something new, which keeps game night interesting.

The world of board games can feel overwhelming, with thousands of new titles released each year. That’s exactly why I created Quick Board Games For Families—to make choosing the right game easier for families like ours. Here, you’ll find family-tested reviews, recommendations, and tips for finding the right board game or card game, whether it’s for a family game night, a camping trip, or a weekend getaway.

At the heart of it all, this site is about connection. Every game we play is another chance to laugh, bond, and make memories. And if I can help another family discover their next favorite game, then I’ve done my job.

When he’s not gaming, you’ll find him on the soccer field. Some of his top picks are Uno: Show ’Em No Mercy, Monopoly Deal, and Dragonwood.
