Our family loves Monopoly Deal purely because it was super easy to learn and has some cool, or not so cool depending on who is on the receiving end, action cards. It is fast-paced and a great filler in the evenings between dinner, bed, and household chores.
We love the original game of Monopoly, but let’s be honest, it can be very time-consuming, and we don’t have the time for that these days. So this combines the fun aspect of Monopoly but in a quick fast past card game and it is also perfect as a travel game.

- Draw a Card from the drawing one card from the draw pile.
- Complete up to three Actions: These actions can be any combination of the following:
- Play a Money Card: Place money cards (bills) in your “bank” pile. These cards are used to pay rent or other debts.
- Play a Property Card: Play property cards in front of you to start building property sets. You can play single property cards or wild cards.
- Play an Action Card: Action cards have various effects, such as charging rent, stealing properties, or canceling actions (Just say No —I love this card).
- Discard a Card: You may choose not to play any of your cards. Instead, you can discard one card onto the discard pile.
- At the End of Your Turn if you have more than seven cards in your hand at the end of your turn, you must discard down to seven.
- Build Property Sets: Your goal is to collect complete sets of properties of the same color.
- Charge Rent: When you have property cards, you can use Rent cards to charge other players. The rent amount depends on the number of properties in the set.
- Watch Out for Action Cards: Be prepared for action cards that can change the course of the game, such as “Deal Breaker” (steals a complete set) and “Just Say No” (cancels another player’s action).
- How to win the Game: The first player to collect three complete property sets of different colors wins the game.
