How to Play Planted a Card Drafting Game, in Less than 30 Mins

Planted a card drafting game played over four rounds, where players aim to acquire resources such as decorations, tools, and new plants to enrich their garden.

How do you Play Planted Game

At the start of each round, players draw six resource cards and two item cards from the nursery board’s draw piles, keeping their hands concealed. Each round consists of eight turns, during which all players simultaneously select one card from their hand and play it face-down in their play area. Afterward, the remaining cards are placed face-down on the table. The placement depends on the round, following the guidelines indicated on each player board.

In rounds one and three, players place the remaining cards to the left of their board. Conversely, in rounds two and four, the cards go to the right.

Each round, you follow these steps

During the drafting phase, players take turns selecting cards from a central pool. After choosing one card, you pass the remaining deck to your neighbor and continue drafting until every card has been selected.

Resource Collection Phase: Next, gather the corresponding resource tokens—water, sunlight, and plant food—based on the cards you’ve drafted.

Plant Growth Phase: Now, invest in the growth of your plants. Each plant card has multiple growth stages, and to advance through each stage, you’ll need specific resources.

Propagation Phase (Optional): Use any remaining resources to fill your player board’s propagation jars. At the end of the game, these jars will earn you bonus points.

Cleanup and Discard: Finally, discard any unused resources and played cards. Prepare for the next round.
