What is Monopoly Board Crawl?

Think of this as Monopoly stripped down for a party or as an alternative to beer pong. The goal isn’t to build hotels; it’s to collect the most properties before everyone passes “GO.” In this version, sips are your currency.

How do you Play Monopoly Board Crawl

Once you’ve got everything set up, it’s time to dive into the Monopoly Board Crawl gameplay. Here’s how you can play step-by-step:

  1. Choose Your Tokens and Roll to Begin

First up, players select their Monopoly game pieces (tokens) as usual. Roll the dice to determine the order of play, and then begin your crawl around the board, just like in the classic Monopoly game.

  1. Navigate the Board

On your turn, roll the dice and move the number of spaces indicated. As you land on different properties, you’ll encounter unique challenges or actions:

Unowned Properties – You can choose between doing nothing (really) or choosing to buy it. If you buy it, you take the number of sips on the board space.

Or, if you land on an owned property, you pay rent by taking the number of sips listed on the Tile Deed.  Or you can Steal the Deed by successfully completing the challenge listed on that Title Deed.

Consequently, if you land on a Rideshares, you pay rent based on the number of rideshares the owner has.

When you land on an Action Space Chance you’ll complete what the top card says immediately.

Free Parking square allows you to have some time out and lets everyone else support you at this time by taking a sip.

Just visiting. Everyone celebrates your not in jail and takes a sip with you.

Go to Jail.  The funniest one yet. You don’t move your token to jail. You get some time out in the corner instead, until your next turn. Or you can choose to break out if another player rolls a 6. Yep, you read right. You get to be a two-year-old again and have some time out in a corner.

How the Game Ends

The game ends when everyone has been around the board once. If you have less than five people, you may choose to go around the board a second or third time.

Once you’ve decided on the number of rounds on completion, you count up your Title Deeds and see who has the most wins. If there’s a tie, count the total number of rent sips on each of your Title Deeds. The player with the most sips wins.

Why Play Monopoly Board Crawl?

There’s a reason Monopoly has been a staple for decades, but the Board Crawl version is the ultimate upgrade for adult party game nights. Here is why it works:

  • The Perfect Social Mix: It blends classic strategy with high-energy party fun, keeping everyone engaged without the “boredom” of the traditional version.

  • Ideal for Large Groups: Unlike standard tabletop games, this format encourages constant movement, conversation, and laughter—essential for socializing with friends.

  • Fully Customizable: You can easily swap out rules or challenges to match your group’s energy level or sense of humor.

  • Fast-Paced Action: No more four-hour marathons! This version is designed to be completed in a single evening.

  • Grown-Up Humor: Specifically built for an older audience, it features challenges and tasks that are much more engaging than basic “kid-friendly” games.

  • Inclusive Fun (No Alcohol Required): This isn’t just a “drinking game.” Non-drinkers can fully participate by swapping alcohol for creative alternatives—like a shot of a “love it or hate it” drink so they never feel excluded from the gameplay.
